Summer Cruise - On A Honeymoon? Want To Take A Family Vacation? Have A Blast! If you are taking the family away for a holiday, there is nothing better than booking a Summer Cruise, a very popular choice. This is not just an activity to be enjoyed by the family. Often newlyweds will leave their honeymoon till the Summer months so they can get away when the weather is more favourable. Summer is the favourite time of the year for the family to enjoy a long or even just a short cruise . The children are on their long school holidays in the Summer, so the family have more flexibility as to when to book ahead for their holidays together. Older couples find that Summer Cruises are more suitable for them. They can get about easier in the warmer months with plenty more activities that they can enjoy - that's what cruises are designed for! There are cruise packages which take you from San Diego and travel down to Baja, Mexico, and you can also go from Vancouver for a cruise up to Alaska. Both of these holidays are very popular choices. These places are of course considered short trips for a cruise, so there are more options if you are planning to take a longer cruise. Ship cruises also offer exciting destinations like the Adriatic or the Meditteranean. Head to France and Venice which is where these cruises will take you to, ideal places for a honeymoon or a romantic getaway. If you're looking for something totally different, why not venture out to a place which is rarely talked about for a holiday cruise - Greenland and Iceland. Try this out of the ordinary trip. Check out the wildlife in their natural habitat, which are normally only seen at some of the larger zoos. You'll see marvellous sights like the musk oxen, the polar bears, the wild caribou and get a glimpse of the lemmings. These cruises let nature lovers live their absolute dream for about two weeks, with trips where they go onshore to get a close up and experience the wilderness surrounging them. You will get a chance to check out the beautiful glaciers and large icebergs down the fjords and the waters. For something warmer, away from the chill, take a Mexican cruise where you'll visit the Yucatan Peninsula. Be astounded as take an inland trip to the ruins of the Mayan culture. There are breathtaking beaches to be found on the Yucatan Peninsula, you just won't believe your eyes. There is also the great choice of seeing the wonders of the rain forest by travelling to Panama or even Peru. There are even offshore trips that will take you to the villages so you can explore the fantastic sights, or enjoy some snorkelling near the beaches. Everyone should at least take advantage for a once in a lifetime trip on a Summer Cruise and make the most of it. Book early to ensure a place whatever destination you decide to pick, an exciting cruise to look forward to with lots of fun! Travel Pre Internet:
I've been riding for over 40 years - with the thumb in my early days, the boots of the Scouts, a Lambretta came next and then my pileup first followed by the new old bangers to the beaches of the Costa Brava.
My thumb, boots, bikes and bangers took me all over Europe and the UK before finding that a charter flight to Spain in an old 'Connie' I could get to the beaches and bars much faster and have more time to enjoy the travel opportunities horse and cart and the occasional bus and train.
'Go West and Prosper "seems to be a good idea so instead of taking a flight of eight hours eight days took a transatlantic cruise from Tilbury to Montreal Stephan Batory on the Polish Ocean Lines to ensure that the jet lag did not bother my travel plans. Some years later crossed the pond again in a boat but this time was 5 times larger and I traveled in style in the Queen Elizabeth 2 and dined on rack of Queen a bit away from my past experience. I recommend travel sea, but can not see myself in a modern cruise ship going from port to port with constant up and down lineups to buy shirts. However, I made 10 Windjammers and Star Clipper cruise in the Caribbean, all of which were memorable (hopefully Windjammer Barefoot Cruises recover from their problems.) But I digress.
There read that Canada is a spectacular country, from sea to sea, and my entry into the St. Lawrence River to Montreal and then in a westerly direction in a truck's age Econoline Great Lakes, through the meadows of the Rocky Mountains before the end of whale watching off the Pacific coast of Vancouver Island was a wonderful trip an uncle in London. Today the scenery is still spectacular and the best way forward is still on the road, renting or buying a car, trailer or motorcycle, take the train or bus tourism, but remember the maps, a fly rod, good boots and take your time.
My favorite part of Canada and the U.S. for adventure travel must be North British Columbia and Alaska, to travel the Chilkoot Trail in the footsteps of the goldseekers 1898. Northwest Territories Yukon River canoe and drive Nahanni chicken from Dawson City, Alaska. If you like the outdoors and can withstand a few errors, cast a fly and scale of some hills or driving on dirt roads endless sharing space with moose, caribou, moose, bears and eagles, then these are the places to put on your list. The pleasures and experiences in driving to Inuvik on the Dempster Highway Prudhoe Bay or in the Dalton Highway or road Canola can only be felt by them. I had mentioned the Alaska Highway, but now is an easy journey unlike the previous ones.
Today the cost of driving these distances may mean sharing the journey with others is necessary, but RVing or just Vanning and camping is a good way to see beyond the horizon. Some routes of adventure must now be booked in advance while when I hiked Denali and Chilkoot pass was just a case of appearing, register with the local ranger and head out. A little further planning is necessary for the traveler today and cost considerations of the long flights or drives somehow be countered with more careful planning. In the days of gas prices reasonable I would not even consider driving or flying costs and led to Key West from the northwest coast, the west coast of Baja and the west coast of New York. On one occasion even blew my taildragger 1946 Pacific Fleet to the Atlantic and back using about 5 gallons an hour of Avgas. Before the oil and the credit crisis drove from Rio de Janeiro to Lima, to Tierra del Fuego and back to Rio covering over 15,000 miles of spectacular scenery and regardless of the cost of gas. South America should be on your itinerary too! Some other memorable units may now require a mortgage with gas companies include London to The North Cape Norway, Skippers Canyon in New Zealand and the solitude of the far north of Australia and the coast of Western Australia incredible to come to Monkey Mia and Wave Rock.
We tend to forget that the real cost of travel is often less today than during the 40 years of my travels. In 1977 my airfare back and forth from Canada to Australia cost more than $ 1,700 dollars in 1977 what is now much cheaper to fly, even with the rise in fuel airlines, excess baggage, service no and no pleasure. The method of "Big Mac" price comparison made by The Economist gives a good indication for the majority of costs today than yesterday but my cost of $ 1,500 to obtain a private pilots license in the 1970s seems cheap compared to today, but obviously not when it is used This Big Mac principle. Other travel costs are also much cheaper today, but this should not mean that travelers should ignore the many methods of saving of cost which may be subjected to expand or improve travel experiences
Post-Internet Travel:
In my 40 years of travel I had to use the travel agencies to make even the simplest of reservations and buy tickets, even thought to ask them if they had "been there, done that?" It was just a case of absence of other options to purchase travel. We now have unlimited options and can find the best travel agents, better prices, better selections and information on any part of the world for our trips - without ever leaving home.
The Internet now offers ideas and options travelers where to go, when to go, why Why go, what to do?, to book and procedures to save money and reduce costs. We can look for and find experts for every travel option. If we are comfortable with the Internet and not have to go to a travel agent to make reservations and purchase tickets with the exception of a book with some of the largest travel companies still produce glossy brochures and offer all inclusive packages or tours that only sold through the agency system. The Internet also allows those of us who are smart enough to know when to look for a top travel agent with knowledge, experience and expertise (KEE skills) of the destinations and activities about where to look. There is no need to use only our local agents when it is a world elsewhere. When it is not necessary " knowledge "and what we can do just surf the web so that we can book directly with tour operators and travel to where we decided to go.
Some travel agencies operate their own tours, some are wholesale and retail, some consumer selection limit, only the sale of its "preferred" suppliers and some have professional consultants with years of experience invested in acquiring knowledge, experience and expertise and are worth their weight in gold for the traveler. Take care, as some specialists are also called destination and some of these names are merely require the agent to undergo a rudimentary test offered by the tourist offices, groups of destination marketing and even tour operators and in my opinion, can damage the reputation of the travel industry. A specialist is not necessarily an expert.
The trip is probably the most used commercial aspect of the Internet and whether sales agents want to take this opportunity to offer exciting "the knowledge "and its kee" skills to a global audience, not just their local community should embrace the changes that are happening. Travelers now have the ability to find answers to the 5 W's major travel and "How the money to" save and offset the costs to have the information just a click away.
And then it occurred to me that even Internet travel prices often include an element of the commission even when sold directly to consumers. If you book directly with the operators should not have to pay full retail prices as we are doing for ourselves what is a retail agency normally do for us. A dilemma for the operator to demonstrate is that once a child and a choice of cost price could deter many players from the sale of passenger services as agent could use a free advice and book directly with the operator to get a "network of the commission" of prices. Obviously, fixing two-tiered pricing is often not available, but travelers who do not need or advice should not be penalized by fixing retail prices. A new way had to be found and I think I found!
The need for fairer fare prices is why we developed the program in the Top Travel Voucher Travel Club Top I even found a dot com for it. All travel selections on the site are in "net of commission" for prices which are concerned not to own travel arrangements directly with the operators involved in the club's website with our voucher program.
I'm inviting tour operators worldwide to join this program, the B & B, motels, hotels, luxury villas, Eco Resorts, Beach Resorts and Adventure Tour Operators who want to promote their products and services travelers who are comfortable with direct bookings and reservations.
I also invited travel agents with knowledge, experience and expertise destinations and activities to demonstrate their skills to a global audience of travelers and members of the travel club. I am wary of 'special agents' and Experts want to show their services.
This opportunity is available for the travel industry at no cost, except for the network they offer, sale or exit price for club members and visitors to the website using travel vouchers. I believe this program offers a fair price fares to passengers booking direct. The operator would normally have to pay the commission anyway, but now travelers get the savings due to make their own arrangements.
The Top Travel Club opened to countries in mid-April in 2008 and offers thousands of top travel vouchers for trips over 70 with about 150 trips aboard operators. Each week we add more tour operators with more options for members. Today you can get savings on accommodation, adventure travel, boat cards, culinary travel, walking, bicycling and diving excursions, car rentals and RV and guides fishing lodges, safaris, vacation rentals, individual trips, women only and dude ranches. Members receive free of charge vouchers by paying an annual membership fee and non-members can purchase tickets online at top travel sites at deeply discounted prices the face-value. Future growth will include restaurants, clothing, travel, travel insurance and the opportunity to access to airline tickets consolidators who want to deal directly with consumers.
The way I've traveled and the way I travel is that consumers should have unlimited access to all travel opportunities with the ability do your own due diligence or to find a professional who can offer advice and quality services at the fair prices, and find all this without endless hours of searching.
For more information on the new form of compensation for travel costs please refer to The Top Travel Club and my apologies for some of the spelling (flyer / traveler), but that's what I was taught. While we all understand the meaning, the difference will live!
